ST JOHN?S HOSPITAL, LIMERICK is a Voluntary Hospital founded in
**Apply on the website** and funded by the Health Service Executive.
It is a Model 2S, acute general hospital and a member of the
University of Limerick Hospitals Group . The hospital provides a range
of inpatient and outpatient services, including general medicine,
general surgery, urology, gynaecology and endoscopy services. The
hospital also has an Urgent Care Centre incorporating a Local Injuries
Unit and Medical Assessment Unit. It is now seeking applicants for the
post of:

HUMAN RESOURCES & ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Reporting to the CEO as a member of the organisational leadership
team, the Human Resources and Organisational Development Manager will
have responsibility for the strategic and operational development of
the HR and Organisational Development department including education,
internal communications and the successful management of the education
centre. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the
strategic development of workforce and organisational development
within the organisation as a whole.

* This role combines the requirement for the Human Resources and
Organisational Development Manager to attend internal Executive Team
meetings and related committees, and to attend the monthly Performance
Review meetings with the Executive Team of University of Limerick
Hospital Group
* The role is outward facing, developing the workforce strategy,
leading on workforce transformation and with overall responsibility
for organisational development in the areas of People Development,
learning and engagement support functions in the Hospital including
training and education support provided in the staff education centre.
* The post interfaces on a day to day basis with the Deputy CEO and
all other service heads, by supporting the day to day operational
leadership of the organisation. This post will also involve working
closely with the other Executive managers.
* The HR element of the post is supported by an Assistant Human
Resources Manager, Medical Manpower and Recruitment Officer,
Occupational Health Nurse and Clerical Officer. The Organisational
Development element of the post is supported by several staff who
provide in-house training and education on a full-time and part-time
basis.
* As a key member of the executive management team, the successful
candidate will share responsibility with fellow managers for
developing the hospital?s overall strategic direction and for
achieving a high level of performance in workforce and staff
development functions.

Suitable candidates will have a 3rd level qualification in Human
Resources (Quality and Qualifications Ireland Level 8 or equivalent)
allied to significant HR experience in a senior role to include
experience of handling a range of complex HR issues and extensive
experience of leading change programmes. They will have a proven
ability to develop, manage and deliver effective HR strategies with
experience of managing and working collaboratively with multiple
internal and external stakeholders

Suitable applicants will be an experienced Human Resources and
Workforce professionals with proven leadership skills and a strong
ability to develop system wide relationships with other departments
and services. They will be a confident and approachable leader who is
able to drive cultural change to deliver improved outcomes and
experiences for staff.

This is a full-time permanent appointment which is at the level of
Grade VIII within the HSE?s pay scales.
